Wow!
what a weekend of deep powder riding, slashing and trashing
with smiles all around,
even when the sled had to be rescued the spirits were high!
We started out Saturday with a big crew all lined up for some powder
shredding and hitting some
of our board lines we haven't been able to hit yet this year for lack
of snow cover.
the Spine Tingler at 1200vert a pop looked like a
tracked out ski hill when we were done..
which is no easy
task but we kept charging it all day..
experimenting, I handed of the GoPro pole cam to anyone that was
willing to carry it..
beings that i got no more steady cam for still
pics.. thats how i got all the pictures and
of course some video to
follow up this week sometime..
so. on with some media..
Saturday was ripping!!
the next level in ski lifts.. 3 up sled rides to the top!
powder awaits at every turn using this system..
Clemmy dropping into the Tingler for one final run for a pickup and
out.. hence the sled helmet on..
and on and on we roll...
Hale Yeah man! laying into a carve.
Jesse with a powder pillow explosion.. and then follows up with a "awww
yeah!"
Drew dropping in for a powder run..
oneshot with some explosions!
Bo dropping into the Spine Tingler
the snowman STOKED on another powder run finished..
Swappy laying down some wheelies..
swappy bank carve towards the bottom of the tingler gulley
Jesse with Hale in the back ground dropping in..
another run later Jesse dropping off the top.
Clemmy cranking it off another pillow... these things are everywhere!
hello powder!
So, now that Saturday is over, lets move on to Sunday.. Sunday was a
whole other beast,
with another storm rolling in over night and refreshing the the hill
with more sweet powder
we headed out with a
smaller crew, Tom, Hale, Myself and Ian.. lets just say
the snow was deep.. again.. deeper than before but storming the whole
time..
we quickly realized there was gonna be some more work this day with
some nice sled stucks,
but i'm sure none of us thought we'd be rescuing
a snowmobile..
after finally getting to the 1st zone with some effort we dropped in
for a couple shred lines..
Hale laying into some more powder, day 2!
i got into some deep stuff too.. steep pitch and 4 feet is just about
snorkel time..
not a great pic but Tom laying into a high speed carve after a nice
cliff drop up top..
at the bottom its all smiles..... ... ... for now..
Hale with some more powder explosions..
time to roll on to the next zone.. but not until we get stuck a few
more times...
finally getting closer to the zone I decided it was time to do some
sledding, but this bull this day was not having it..
so i got bucked! as i reached and fell and reached i shouted like a
little girl as i watched my sled go over the edge and disappear.
$$$ <-- i saw these as it went.. reaching my sled down the hill
to my surprise it was still running.. good sign #1..
good sign #2 was Ian showing up behind me, i think this calmed
me as i didn't feel alone anymore..
commence sled rescue.. with a smile..
must build hwy, must get this out TODAY!
some 2+ hours later.. Tom looks at the Camera.. i think we're all a bit
tired at this point/
time for the Come-Along, rope, sled bunjee and throttle...
Nothing more after this as that last effort was the trick.. up and out
i went.. stoke factor for ALL very high!.
sled runs, its bruised and will be at the shop tomorrow.. (this is why
you have sled insurance)
So, Sunday night filled with joy because we got my sled out i felt
compelled to make a video with whatever vid clips
we had of the rescue and a couple pow clips mixed in so you see why we
sled shred :)..
i just happened to be filming when i got bucked off the bull.. so
you'll see that.. enjoy..
its a great feeling riding with friends and a crew that you can count
on when the shit hits the fan..
thanks Tom, Hale and Ian for all the effort and sore backs you probably
had the next day.. i owe ya's!
